Darden School of Business Classroom Technology

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

We hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend with your family & friends! We were busy with events and it looks like April and May were just the start.  We are working on a lot of great projects this Summer and plan to share them with you here.

First, we are very excited to be working with the UVA Darden School of Business here in Charlottesville for the third Summer in a row to upgrade their classroom technology. We have partnered with Dell, Mediatech and Crestron again this year to provide Darden with the state-of-the Art facilities that they need to provide the latest in technology to their students.

Here is how the Darden website describes the technology that they offer:

Darden anticipates and embraces changing trends in information technology. The School builds cutting-edge technology into every classroom and learning experience.  Professors employ a wide array of technology-enhanced learning tools, such as interactive simulations, to engage students in real-world exercises. They also produce digital content to complement the curriculum, including multimedia case studies produced by Darden Media and published by Darden Business Publishing. To stay at the forefront of MBA teaching, we must be the best at teaching in a digital world.

Fluvanna County High School Classroom Technology

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

We are very excited to have been awarded the bid to provide classroom technology for the new Fluvanna County High School! Thank you so much to Fluvanna County for partnering with us!  Even better, we will be installing the very latest in projector technology for educational environments:  the Epson BrightLink 455Wi.

The BrightLink 455Wi interactive projector can be used to transform a wall, whiteboard or table into an interactive learning area. This flexibility allows for educators to meet the varied learning needs of their students – whether in large groups, small work teams or even individually – while maximizing the existing space in their classrooms.

Digital Signage in Restaurants

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

We are guessing you wouldn’t expect to walk into your favorite upscale Charlottesville restaurant and see digital signage featuring their menu items and ingredients.  But, digital signage is quickly becoming a big topic in the world of fast food restaurants.  New legislation in some states and people being more aware of what they are eating in general is leading to the need to publish nutritional and calorie information on menu boards.  Because menus are always changing and there restaurants have thousands of locations. this can be very expensive and time consuming.  Digital signage is the perfect solution.  It can even be updated from one location when a menu changes.

We think this is something that you will see in school systems in the coming years as well to indicate the days menu, nutritional information and it could even include icons next to healthier items to teach students to make good choices.  Check out this article from Digital Signage Weekly on this subject.
